golfer5.gif Planning has started for the Fourth Annual MESA Golf Outing, check back for dates and registration information.

The Third Annual MESA Golf Outing was held September 9, 2009!

In lieu of the economic conditions, the Golf  Committee held the 2008 prices, returning golfers and sponsors were given an early admission option.  The generosity of the elevator industry is astounding!  The course was sold out, donations were high, while the raffle and auction was a huge success.

It was a beautiful day at the third annual MESA Golf Tournament at the Olde Scotland Links Golf Course .  The illustrious Golf Committee of Mark Burley, Roland Locke, Marty McKown, and Joe Zarba as well as the volunteers Ursula Guthrie of Advanced Elevator Technologies and Michelle Solberg of Stanley Elevator deserve big ‘thanks’ running the raffles, the auction, and selling out the course.  Their efforts and your generosity allow MESA to fund the G. Gahr Finney Memorial Scholarship for two worthy recipients in 2009 as well as funding a future year!

Ms. Kelley Morgan, daughter of Ed Morgan of ThyssenKrupp, who is studying sports medicine at Merrimack College in North Andover and Brittney Nolan, daughter of Rich Nolan of Lerch Bates & Associates, who is attending Suffolk University in Boston are the well deserving recipients of the 2009 Scholarship.

Unfortunately, many of the individual scores were lost in the shuffle, but the team scores are:

First Place: At 63 – Crocker Electric – Scot Holmgren, Dwight Jones, Artie & Don
Second Place:  TIED At 64 – Advanced Elevator Technologies – Joe Devlin, Dave Keaney, and their teammates, tied with
Corporate Interiors – Lee Slater, Dave Gauthier, Tom Pettine, and John Kineavy.

Third Place:  TIED At 66 – ThyssenKrupp Elevator – Rich Walter, Bill Jemilo, Carl Strychalk and Carl Faruolo, tied with Charlie Horse Restaurant – Cole Barrett and his teammates.
Team who thought MESA was using basketball scoring:   pre=”">Draka Elevator – Mark Yako, Eric Tragash (using an umbrella), Tom Warmingham, and Jim Venza….kidding they actually shot 67 for the front 9….no really 67 for all 18, even with the umbrella.

Women’s Longest Drive #10 - Leslee Quinn

Thanks again to everyone, we look forward to another great time next year!

The second outing on September 17, 2008 was a giant success!!

What a great time we had!  The MESA Golf Committee as outdone themselves again, Mark Burley, Roland Locke, Marty McKown, and Joe Zarba did a great job planning and executing a great fund raiser and an awesome day.  Great food provided by Tim O’Leary from Castaway’s Bar and Grille in Bridgewater and many thanks to Chris Anthony of Olde Scotland Links Golf Course for all of their help and the beautifully kept course.  Ursula Guthrie of Advanced Elevator Technologies and Michelle Solberg of Stanley Elevator deserve huge credit for making the raffles a big success.  Lindsey Burley and her friend Chrissy were an integral part of the our fun on the course, thank you to all of you!

Your generosity has enabled MESA to award this year’s recipients Sarah  ”>Caughey (John Caughey’s daughter) and Leah  class=”hiddenSpellError” pre=”Leah “>Kavalchuk (granddaughter of David Kenney Jr.) each a $2,000 scholarship, but has also assured that we can fund the scholarship into the future!!!  I am sure Gahr would be proud of us.
